Sing? Yes, sing. Spiritually. Inspired. Notes. Of God. What has your Creator put in you that create an added value to your customer?
What is that one thing that really resonates in your soul? When you engage in this activity, inspiration flows and it's as though a second wind kicks in. If you were tired, you suddenly gain energy. If you were bummed out about something this activity immediately causes you to release the negative vibe and be filled with joy. What makes you SING?!!!
As an entrepreneur, you need to tap into what's in you. Sure, you want to make money but there has to be something more. It's that 'something more' that will get you up in the morning and keep you going when the going gets tough. What inspired or motivated you to go into business? If money was your primary reason, SIB says dig a little deeper and find something you can wrap purpose around. For example, Felicia, a single parent of three, says she thought her sole purpose for going into business was to make money. She spent enormous amounts of time and sweat equity building her home-based business and now she can truly say she's getting paid. But when we asked her to dig a little deeper, she found a sweet insight that moved her to tears.
''Yes, money was important - I didn't have any! But I wanted a better life for my children and myself. I didn't want to become another welfare statistic. I wanted my children to be able to go to good schools and have the resources that would give them an advantage. Because I've done well in business, I've been able to provide this for my children. For myself, I have more confidence and security that I have something laid up for our future. My experiences have also enabled me to help others. Something I wasn't able to do before because I was barely able to help myself. I'm also able to be a financial blessing. It feels good to be able to give and not have to get it back. What's in it for me? I guess it's the desire to make a difference and I see now, that I have.''
What's in you? What stirs you? Excites you? Moves you to tears or even anger?
What prompts you to action? Does your business contain any of these elements?
What purpose does your business serve for yourself and/or for others? SIB challenges you to go beyond the dollar signs and seek the meaningful purpose behind why you've become an entrepreneur. Take our challenge this week and answer the questions we've posed. Then take the next step and send your answers and insights to us. We'd love to feature them in a future article.
